On Friday 24 June 2022 members of our team participated in different activities of the World Congress of the Association for Hydro-environment Engineering and Research (IAHR). Together with Ellis Penning, Jochen Hack led the High Level Panel "Nature-based Solutions and Ecohydraulics".
A special session focusing on the Upscaling of Implementing Nature Based Solutions for Climate Change Adaptation, from a perspective of government and science also took place. Our collegues presented the SEE-URBAN-WATER research project, and a combined legal-hydrological evaluation method for Green Infrastructure in urban Costa Rica. Moreover, they participated in a workshop where they discussed lessons that can be learnt from successful cases of implementing those kind of solutions, and the contribution of the IAHR to this effort. Topics related to the role of different organizations, as well as the role of the local context for upscaling small-scale experiences were discussed.
